Animals of Southern Kruger

In Southern Kruger you are likely to see the big 5. A Term which refers to the 5 most dangerous animals to hunt. The big 5 comprises of:

Lion

Elephant

Leopard

Rhino

Buffalo

The most dangerous animal in Africa, the one responsible for most deaths are actually the Hippo but it is not included in the Big 5 because after being shot it tends to run into the water and not attack.

Kruger and more particularly southern Kruger offers so much more than the big 5.

One may be lucky enough to see wild dog or cheetah, both very rare in Kruger yet frequently spotted in the Crocodile Bridge area.

For more information on animals frequently seen by our guests please have a look at our Photo Gallery.
